Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 3 spoilers: Beulah Koale & Steve’s dog arrive

Steve's dog

There are a couple of different, very-exciting things to look forward to on Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 3 airing on CBS next month. For one, Steve’s dog is finally on the scene! We first heard and saw earlier in the summer that McGarrett was going to have a new four-legged friend, and it’s pretty darn easy to be excited about something like this since it’s such a sweet, fun addition to the team. Hopefully, this also does help to offer something more in the way of companionship given that his relationships tend to often come and go.

Beyond just seeing a new dog on the scene, this October 13 episode entitled “Nā lā ‘īlio” (otherwise known as “Dog Days”) is going to mark the arrival of Beulah Kaole to the show as Junior Reigns. He will become the newest member of the task force and a series regular, helping to fill some of the vacancies that were left with the exits of Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park.

Take a look for a little more news as to how Steve’s dog enters the picture:

“McGarrett and Five-0 work with an injured police dog who is the only witness to an ambushed drug bust. Also, McGarrett is visited by Junior Reigns, a former SEAL, who is looking to join the task force, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Oct. 13 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Beulah Koale joins the cast as Junior Reigns.”

The idea behind this case is pretty outstanding, mostly because we’re looking at somewhat that fundamentally is so different than anything that we often tend to come across with this show. It’s relying on an animal to help solve a crime, and that can be a pretty risky proposition sometimes. Animals are not often the most reliable witnesses, and while they possess great skills (like this dog’s sense of smell), there is no way of knowing whether or not they are going to use that in the best possible manner.

Also, maybe Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 3 sends a positive message out there about pet adoption and working to give someone a great home by whatever means possible. We at CarterMatt are certainly all about supporting shelter pets and adopting through any means necessarily; the message on the show could be a parallel to that.

As for Junior Reigns, not too much is known about the character save for what is here — and also the fact that he’s going to be a little more by the book in his approach than some other characters in the cast. This is a little more in opposition to fellow new character Tani Rey (Meaghan Rath), who has more of a tendency to play fast and loose with the rules.
