Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 2 spoilers: Hilarie Burton returns

Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 2

Just in case you are wondering, you’re only going to have to wait until Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 2 to see Hilarie Burton back.

Following the show’s premiere episode airing later this month — one where you will see the conclusion of the big Riggs / Murtaugh cliffhanger at the end of season 1 — the upcoming October 3 installment entitled “Dancing in September” will feature Burton back as Karen Palmer. Yes, it is somewhat ironic that we’re getting an episode in October with September in the title. Also, we’re going take this title as a sign that the Lethal Weapon writers are huge fans of the Earth, Wind, & Fire song.

Anyhow, let’s get now to sharing via Fox a few more details regarding what makes this episode so interesting:

“Riggs and Murtaugh respond to the death of a plastic surgeon, drawing them into a case involving an illegal drug ring run out of a wellness clinic. Things heat up when Palmer (guest star Hilarie Burton) from the DEA and Riggs compete to solve the case first. Meanwhile, Trish and Murtaugh face the emotional challenges of sending their first son, RJ, off to college.”

There are a couple of things that feel rather fun about this episode from the jump, with the biggest one being the opportunity to see Riggs and Murtaugh in the midst of a crazy and hopefully fun competition with one another. We’ve always been a fan of any opportunity to see these guys at odds with each other, and you could certainly end up seeing that happen here.

Beyond all of this, you’re also going to see over the course of the episode the arrival of Blindspot actress Michelle Hurd in the role of Gina Santos, the new boss and someone who could come down rather hard on some of the other characters. However, she also does have a romantic history with one of the two leads, and there could be both some comedy and a little bit of awkwardness that eventually stems from that … and we’re very much excited to see that play out. Hurd is great, and this is a chance for her to take on a different, but still very much entertaining, role surrounded by a great cast of performers.
