Suits season 7B spoilers: Possible Mike – Rachel wedding and more

Suits season 7B will not begin until the new year, but there are still some questions to answer and mysteries to explore. One of the big ones simply has to do with the status of Mike and Rachel. Is a wedding actually going to be coming this season?

While show creator Aaron Korsh did not say definitively in a new interview with Deadline that wedding bells are head, he made it clear that such a union will “probably” happen over the course of the coming episodes. He didn’t get all that specific on the details, but we feel like it absolutely should. If nothing else, the cast contracts are expiring after this season and you don’t want to run the risk that you don’t get a wedding and either Patrick J. Adams or Meghan Markle departs. Note that we’re not saying either are (we know that there’s about 200 different publications out there who are willing to jump on anything/everything related to Markle these days), but it’s something that the show does need to keep in mind.

As for some other scoop on the show’s future, Korsh noted that there could be many returns for familiar characters in the six Suits season 7B episodes, including someone we haven’t actually seen in the flesh before:

“Sheila is going to come back. I think when we get to the spinoff portion of the series, we’re going to see Jeff Malone again. There’s a lot of people working at the firm who work there, sometimes we see them, sometimes we don’t see them, be it Brian, Gretchen, Katrina, Robert Zane is always in the mix, Lipschitz has been a good character we added this year who won’t be going away. Mike is probably not done with the clinic, and there will be reemergence of characters. We’re going to meet a new character that our people within our show know but fans haven’t met before, and that character is going to play a role in the back six.”

Out of all of this Jeff Malone is the biggest surprise just because of the actor’s commitments elsewhere, but we’re glad that everyone is going to be turning up and back in the mix again. Obviously we’d also love to see Scottie before the end of the season or series (we’re hoping that there will be a season 8), but that may be a challenge given that Abigail Spencer is busy traveling through time and/or being Owen Hunt’s long-lost sister on Grey’s Anatomy.

When could Suits season 7B?

In the first few months of 2018. We wish that we could offer up a little more in the way of a definite answer at the moment, but as explained in the story over at the link here, the Winter Olympics could cause the show to be held back ever so slightly to late February of early March.
