Ballers season 3 episode 9 is the penultimate episode of the season, and it could be a turning point for Spencer Strasmore. Entering the episode, it’s going to be clear that his long-discussed plan to bring an NFL franchise to Las Vegas is in jeopardy. Just because he wants it to happen, and he’s persuaded many a big donor to get involved, doesn’t mean that such a move will actually happen. There are many more things that may need to happen first, and it’s a complicated, multi-step process in the way that virtually anything related to the National Football League is. If it doesn’t work, this goes down as yet another one of his ventures that didn’t quite work out. He’s already got a reputation for sinking money into projects, and the legacy here could be that this is yet another.
At this point in the show’s run, though, it’s going to be clear that Spencer is not the only person with problems. Ricky and Charles are each going to be at delicate spots in their own careers, and we do wonder how everything is going to ultimately pan out with the two of them. The title for this episode is “Crackback,” and you can get some additional insight into what’s coming below.
Ballers season 3 episode 9 synopsis – “Spencer (Dwayne Johnson) learns that his master plan to bring a team to Las Vegas may be in jeopardy. Ricky (John David Washington) arrives at a crossroads, personally and professionally. Charles (Omar Benson Miller) sees his wish come true in Miami, but ends up with regrets.”
Is there something more that we would like to eventually see moving into Ballers season 3? Certainly, and it goes a little something like this: Getting Spencer, Charles, and Ricky into the same room more often. While we enjoy the show very much, it does suffer from time to time in the realm of actually having everyone be directly connected. The storylines are often very isolated, and while they often do entertain, we’d love for the fourth season to throw these guys into the same room and have them work more directly on problem-solving with Joe. We’ll see if that happens next summer, but for now, there’s more story to finish off here.
