Suits 100th episode: Patrick J. Adams teases big Donna, Louis storylines

Patrick J. Adams is directing and starring in the Suits 100th episode on Wednesday night, but Mike Ross is only one of many characters at the heart of the story. There are many people who have been a part of this series from the beginning, and they are all going to have some big moments.

In the case of one Donna Paulsen, hers could be tied very much to her dating life thanks to what happened in her past with Mark. Meanwhile, for Louis Litt we’ve already seen via a promo for the episode that he will be visited by someone tied to his past.

In a discussion about this episode to Entertainment Weekly, Adams teased up some of what is going to be coming over the course of this episode:

“Mark Meadows [played by Jay Harrington] is back in this episode and they have some great stuff together. It’s a really nice episode for both Donna and Louis in that they both have to face down a real crushing sense of loneliness. Harvey’s had a relationship that’s really started to take off and get a little deeper this season, and I think for Donna, whatever people think her feelings for Harvey might be, it’s still difficult to see other people falling in love and to not have that in your own life. So Mark coming back into her memory and into her life in that last episode, I think, triggers some stuff, which she needs to deal with in this episode and they get reconnected. And, the same goes for Louis. He’s forced to sort of deal with someone he thought was long out of his life but has returned to create some conflict for him.”

All of this could set up huge stories for the two of them not only within this episode, but in the remainder of the season as a whole. One of the things that is so interesting about where the show is right now is that we’re at the middle of one of the most interesting parts of the season — it’s not the finale, and so the episode cannot feel like that. Yet, it’s also a milestone episode and you do want the show to carry with it a certain sense of gravitas in that regard, as well. It can’t just feel like a normal episode, since it is meant to be in some ways a culmination of the entire story that has transpired beforehand. We don’t necessarily need to exit the episode feeling as though the lives for some of the characters have changed forever, but we do want to be reflective of what we’ve enjoyed this show so much over the years.
