Crime Dynamic Duos: Major Crimes (Sharon / Andy), Blue Bloods (Danny / Baez) start final four

Can you believe the Crime Dynamic Duos final four are now upon us? Tens of thousands of votes have been cast, and there are just four different pairs in contention now for the grand prize: Sharon & Andy, Danny & Baez, Walt & Vic, and Steve & Danny. If you are a lover of people with the name “Danny,” clearly this is a great final four for you. It’s been a lot of fun seeing the different vote swings/ebbs and flows that we’ve seen throughout the tournament. There were some very tight showdowns in this past round, with Sharon & Andy, Walt & Vic, and Steve & Danny all receiving some serious challenges.

Now, let’s kick off the final four with a battle between two of the aforementioned duos who have done extremely well to date.

Voting Rules – You may vote however much you want within the specified voting window. Note that if you are struggling to cast repeat votes, you may need to clear your cache or use a different browser or device. If you are on mobile and you cannot view the poll, scroll to the bottom and click to view the non-AMP version of the page.

One thing we do want to make clear for the final four is that voting will close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, August 27. If you vote after that point, your vote will not count. Voting for the final round will start on August 28, so we’re going to be very specific with that. We’ll be removing the poll at the end of the voting window; if you don’t see it on desktop or mobile, that’s why.

The contenders

Sharon and Andy, Major Crimes – They started off the competition as one of four #1 seeds, and we don’t think that it’s any coincidence that three of those top seeds made it to the final four. These are shows with enormous, passionate audiences that want to see their favorite pair win. We’ve went over already why Mary McDonnell and Tony Denison’s characters are so popular, from their work on the job to the love that they have for each other. We do think one part of their success here stems simply from the lack of recognition that the show often receives elsewhere. It’s an unsung hero much like these characters are, and this tournament is a chance to make a splash.

Danny and Baez, Blue Bloods – You can effectively say the same thing about this CBS show and the partnership between Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez’s characters. Despite getting very good ratings time and time again, this is not a show that receives a ton of publicity or receives many awards. Yet, it’s a show with a passionate, loyal audience who loves these characters and considers them part of their family. (That’s what makes some of those family dinners so special to so many.)

The Danny / Baez duo is the biggest underdog left, given that they started the competition as a #5 seed. Interestingly, though, they also had the biggest overall victory last round of the final four pairs, as they completely throttled Riggs / Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon. After that show upset The Blacklist (Reddington / Liz), those fans disappeared into the ether for the final eight.

Now, let’s turn this over to you

Update: The poll has closed. With 86% of the vote, Sharon / Andy will move on to the final round. Check on CarterMatt on August 28 at 12:00 p.m. PT for the next piece to come online.
