Teen Wolf season 6 spoilers: Colton Haynes’ Jackson now dating Ethan
As it turns out, Jackson had just never realized his sexuality during the time in which he was in Beacon Hills during the show. In speaking on this subject to Entertainment Weekly, creator Jeff Davis had the following message to pass along:
“I thought, if Jackson comes back, he’s coming back in a relationship with a guy … Whether that means he’s bisexual or gay, that’s how he’s returning. I just felt like he went off to London and found himself.”
Meanwhile, Haynes endorsed the idea for the character, given that it both informs his past and also gives him something substantial to play for his future:
“It makes total sense … That’s why Jackson carried around that angst … [He and Ethan] complement each other perfectly. They have a really beautiful relationship.”
The idea of these two characters together is not something that is all that endorse or get behind, mostly because they were good characters apart but were missing something that could make them feel more whole. Maybe this is it? With them only being back for a limited period of time, we feel like much of the focus for the two of them revolves around them having a good role in the story while also making sure that they are happy as people. Even if Teen Wolf is the sort of program where you often do see a lot of crazy things happen with some of its characters, at the same exact time we’ve never felt as though Davis wants them to depart the show anything other than happy. He’s never struck us as being overly malicious towards some of his own creations. We do think that we’re building towards something happy, but it still remains to be seen just how happy everyone who survives the craziness to come could end up being.
Who else is poised to return?
The biggest names of note are Dylan O’Brien and Tyler Hoechlin, just because there is more of their stories to tell following what we’ve seen of them so far. We do think that Stiles is already on his way to his happy ending at Quantico in his new life, but there’s a little more of something that the show could do.
