Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6 photos: ‘Beyond the Wall’ expectations

Beyond the Wall

Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6 is coming up on Sunday night, and its title in “Beyond the Wall” tells quite the story. This is an installment that is going to feature characters like Berric, Jon Snow, Tormund, Jorah and the Hound all working on the same side in the midst of an epic battle, and with that in mind, it’s going to be an installment like no other. Characters will be in grave danger, and it remains to be seen if anyone will be able to stop the Night King in the process.

Obviously, the photo above signals what sort of conditions await Jon Snow in the north, trying to fight alongside his ragtag group of temporary allies. The biggest thing that we see thematically coming out of the battle is a spirit of cooperation. These are characters who realize the sort of value there is in trying to work together within this operation, even if they are putting their lives on the line collectively in the process.

Will one of them die? It feels more than likely when you think about the situation that they’re in. Also, this is Game of Thrones and that’s just the nature of this show. They love killing people off! At the top of our list, ironically, is Berric who has been brought back to life so many times already by the lord of light. Think about it through this lens: If there is one character who could die, it would make sense that it was the one character who’s come back so many times. Maybe it was his destiny to be revived constantly so that he could die in the midst of this battle.

Meanwhile, back at Winterfell, you are going to be seeing tension surrounding one relationship: Arya and Sansa Stark. Is Littlefinger going to somehow find a way to push the two characters apart?

Beyond the Wall

There are some other settings

The photo above confirms that you won’t be spending the entirety of the episode watching the battle Beyond the Wall alongside events at Winterfell. Daenerys and Tyrion are going to have some role to play, though it is unclear what that role could be.

Is this really the time in which you could see the Mother of Dragons invades King’s Landing, and takes Westeros back from Cersei? That doesn’t seem likely right now, because she doesn’t have a lot of help. Everyone in the North is currently in recovery; meanwhile, we’re not entirely sure that her Dothraki army is in good enough shape so quickly after everything that they just endured. You have to think that at some point in here, everyone’s going to need a little bit of time to actually recover from some of what has transpired.
