Arrow season 6 spoilers: GLOW actress to investigate Oliver, Green Arrow
As first reported by Variety, recent GLOW actress Sydelle Noel is going to recur coming up in the season as an FBI agent by the name of Samanda Watson. She is smart, determined, resourceful, and she may do something few other people have: Find a way to connect some dots between Oliver Queen and the Green Arrow.
As any longtime fan of the show knows, this is certainly far from the first time that we’ve seen such a role on this show. It’s taken on different forms over the years, with the most-recent one being Susan Williams (Carly Pope), who had gotten enough information on Oliver to try and expose him before letting that fall to the wayside for the sake of her relationship/protecting some of the work that he did. Susan was a derided character by many fans, but we never had that much of an issue with her given that she was, effectively, an overly-ambitious and eager reporter who eventually realized that some of her work was more harmful than beneficial. Also, she got tormented by Adrian Chase.
It makes sense that there would be many people over time interested in trying to out Oliver as the Green Arrow just because if there’s one thing people want in the world, it’s control. Having a masked vigilante roaming the streets is not something either the Star City PD or the FBI can fully endorse. They don’t know who they are and whether or not they can be fully trusted. Routinely, this puts them in a precarious position since if things go awry, they’re the ones with egg on their face for not trying to stop the Green Arrow when they can. It’s the perception that this mystery figure is above the law.
So, like it or not, there’s always going to be someone out there intent on taking the Emerald Archer down a notch. In this case, it just so happens to be Watson. We also do like that her last name is a Sherlock reference, regardless of whether or not that was intended. It’s pretty cool anyway.
Other things to remember
Arrow season 6 is going to be premiering in the fall on The CW, and there are a number of different things to keep in mind. For one, there will be multiple villains coming in between Black Siren, Vigilante, and potentially whoever Michael Emerson’s character is. Meanwhile, you also have a few appearances on the way for Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson, and also a four-part crossover that will cause Arrow to shift over to Monday night, even if it’s just for a week.
What do you think about having someone else out there on Arrow trying to figure out the Green Arrow’s identity? Be sure to share now in the comments!
