Bachelor in Paradise 4 full trailer coming during After the Final Rose
There is still something very weird and problematic about the way that this season is being promoted with Harrison repeatedly referencing that it is “controversial” and everyone seemingly having no problem with that label. Is it true that there was nothing wrong that happened with Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson? If you believe the investigation, it appears that way. The problem here is that whatever did happen was still seedy enough that production had to shut down, and we’re not altogether sure that this is something that you would want to be happy about. The whole situation was definitely messy, and not the sort of thing that really fits with the Disney brand. Remember when Paradise was described as a less sleazy alternative to Bachelor Pad when that show was on the air? Well, that seems like forever and a day ago.
If you want to see how ABC is describing the season in an official statement, you can check that out below:
“Over the course of six weeks, fan favorites from “The Bachelor” franchise
get a second chance at love while living together in Mexico, in a secluded
and dreamy paradise. Viewers will watch as they fall in love or go through
renewed heartbreak. Plus, America will have a front seat at the highly
anticipated wedding of “Bachelor in Paradise” season 3 lovebirds, Carly
Waddell and Evan Bass.”
Here is the one clear bit of good news in regards to this statement: There isn’t any mention in here of the DeMario – Corinne incident, which is the way that it really should be. While we do understand that this is the story that generated so much publicity for the show this summer, there is a very delicate line that you have to cross between acknowledging the incident and then using it to promote the show. ABC can’t ignore it, but they have to be careful. In one of their promos, they definitely walked right around the line — they haven’t fully crossed it yet, but that’s something that the promo department will have to keep watch on. We know that for us, our excitement level about this season is a little diminished just because of all the negativity around it plus an unappealing group of contestants by and large.
