Game of Thrones season 7 episode 3 debate: Possible Arya Stark reunions

Arya Stark

With Game of Thrones season 7 episode 3 airing on HBO Sunday night, there is potential for quite a bit of great content. That is especially true for this show, but we’re nearing some of the most exciting material for one Arya Stark that we’ve seen in a rather long span of time.

After all, Arya is on her way to Winterfell, and there is potential as a result of that for quite a number of interesting reunions that we’ve been waiting a long time to see. Check out an assortment of suggested ones below…

Sansa – This is the reunion that we imagine is going to happen the soonest, given that she is ruling the city with Jon gone. The two had a contentious relationship as children, but they clearly have gone through hell and back. They could relate to each other so much more than they once did, and Sansa should recognize Arya’s value as a spy and an assassin — if she reveals that part of her life in these conversations. Given how much she has changed, this could be some information that she clearly chooses to guard instead.

Brienne – Their history is absolutely checkered, to say the least. She ended the Arya/The Hound partnership from many seasons back, so seeing where they are at could prove interesting.

Jon – Given that he is off in Dragonstone at present, we would be surprised if such a reunion took place this week. Yet, stranger things have certainly happened so anything is possible. Characters do have a remarkable ability to travel from place to place at warp speed.

The Hound – It’s probably not happening soon, but this has to happen at some point before the end of the series, right? Their history absolutely makes us feel that way.

Nymeria – Is there a reason for her to see her once-beloved direwolf again? There is a genuine case to be made for a reunion emotionally, but we don’t honestly think that it’s all that needed. Just remember how perfect that surprise moment last week, when both Arya and the wolf collectively remembered that they are very different people than they once were. With that, it didn’t make sense for Nymeria to uproot the life that she had formed with the other wolves. (Who knew we’d ever get a chance to speak about a wolf in such a human way during one of these articles?)

Bran – Hey, he is also heading towards Winterfell presumably. Maybe the two spend some time together on the road, or they arrive at the city at the same time. They certainly will have quite a bit of interesting stuff to discuss.
