Game of Thrones season 7 episode 4 preview: Emilia Clarke, Iron Bank, & more

Game of Thrones season 7 episode 4

We’ve got Game of Thrones season 7 episode 4 airing on HBO next week, and we definitely imagine that there’s going to be a lot of great drama ahead!

This is the spot where we would share the official synopsis for the hour, however the network isn’t exactly giving all that much away. They’re keeping their cards close to the vest, but they’ll likely reveal details for most August episodes in the coming days.

What we do have as fodder for discussion here is some of the first footage from next week’s episode! Following the episode tonight, the network showcased a wide array of footage that highlights quite a few different events, whether it be further workings for Cersei with the Iron Bank and also Daenerys making it clear that she is not all that interested in waiting anymore. Forces are going to start colliding, and we’re also left to wonder just what role Sansa is going to have in all of this. Did you enjoy that little shot of her sitting alone in here?

We’ll admit that probably the thing that has us the most excited at the moment is the presence of more Mark Gatiss — we didn’t anticipate him playing such a key role in the story at the moment. He has the power to turn the tide much in the way that Braavos always has. A big part of the beauty of this story within the show is that it symbolizes just how powerful money truly is, regardless of the time period or the world that surrounds it. You just cannot diminish its overall importance.

Meanwhile, the person taking the biggest risk is almost certainly Daenerys, given that she is the person who is contemplating going out with her dragons and finding Euron Greyjoy’s ships. She is underestimating the thinking of Cersei Lannister, who may have devised a way to stop her dragons in their tracks.

As for Jon Snow (pictured above), we’re mostly curious if he will spend this upcoming episode mining, or if there is going to be something more that he has to do. With his sister right now serving in Winterfell and doing a good job at it, he does have the freedom to devise the right strategy for stopping the White Walkers. This is more of his skill set, given that he’s not necessarily a great ruler in many other senses.

Here is perhaps the scariest thought of all when it comes to the show at the moment: There are only four more episodes to go. We’re already in the home stretch, but the home stretch here more or less began with the premiere.
