Should there be another Outlander season 3 trailer before premiere?
Now, the question that we ponder is this: Will this be it before the premiere? Will there be any further footage of the series released before we get around to the first episode airing? There’s a case to be made in two different camps here.
First, there are those who may feel like Starz has already promoted the show considerably — after all, they’ve given you Culloden, a tease of the Print Shop, and some of Claire’s life with Frank and Brianna before coming back to find Jamie Fraser. There is such a thing as getting too much to the extent that you feel like you’ve already seen almost the entire end product through trailers. Consider this the Suicide Squad effect, or what happens anytime after upfronts when new series trailers basically give away the entire plot.
We understand the appeal of being able to watch a series through fresh eyes, but with Outlander, we don’t think that we’re anywhere near oversaturation yet in terms of footage. Even if you don’t want a new trailer to give too much more away, you should prepare for something more to come out. The show likely will release some sort of extended sneak peek from the premiere or a behind-the-scenes featurette showing Caitriona Balfe and the cast working on some of these episodes. (Personally, we’ve already advocated for Starz to release the premiere a week or so early, similar to what Showtime often does with some of their own premieres — it builds hype to another level.)
The case for another trailer
The biggest reason to release another one is that we really haven’t seen many teases of the voyage overseas to Jamaica other than shots of the cast filming in South Africa. It would prove rather fun to see a little more of that highlighted, and given that the Diana Gabaldon books feature this journey prominently, we really don’t think it’s all that substantial a spoiler to showcase Jamie and Claire aboard a ship at some point. It would give the show that much more in the way of visual flair, given that these sequences were filmed at a place that is so different than Scotland in almost every way. Because of all of the recent footage released, it’s almost as though this has been pushed somewhat more on the back-burner.
You don’t have to show why the voyage is happening — you can still leave some of that a mystery for non-readers.
Update: We think that we willed this into existence — hours after writing, a new featurette was revealed! Read more at this link.

Let some portion of the show be a surprise. So much has been shown and talked about, it has hit saturation for me. Enough is enough. Let us have something to look forward to. I am an Outlander book series reader and I also like how Ron D Moore has adapted the books and want to be surprised on the adaptation of the rest of Voyager. Can’t we wait to see Jamie vomit until the episodes are shown.

Ha! If they actually showed Jamie vomiting in a trailer, I may actually faint.
