Poldark season 3 episode 6 spoilers: Drake in Warleggan’s crossfire

Poldark season 3 episode 6

If there is one thing that we can say with confidence moving into Poldark season 3 episode 6 airing on BBC One next week, it’s that we feel very much for Darke Carne. This is a young, still-somewhat-naïve man who just loves Morwenna and wants to have a happy life fulfilling his father’s wishes. We don’t think that he’s out to hurt anyone or cause any trouble.

Then, there’s George Warleggan, who is officially the worst when it comes to human beings in this world. George already sees Ross as a massive thorn in his side thanks to his various antics, and he may start to see Drake in the same light. That’s not too big of a surprise when you consider that Drake’s feelings towards Morwenna, and her reciprocation of those said feelings, mess with some of his plans for her. George has his own goals that he is trying to achieve for himself, and he doesn’t want anyone standing in the way of that. Let’s hope that Drake finds himself some enormous shield of protection, or that his sister Demelza gives him a crash source on surviving the wrath of Warleggan. One way or another, he’s going to need it entering this episode.

Poldark season 3 episode 6 synopsis – “Drake finds himself in the Warleggans’ firing line as George moves to secure his connection to the nobility, and Ross provides some local aid.”

The storyline for Ross is a little more difficult to wrap your head around without proper context as to what’s coming in the rest of the story, but we presume that the biggest thing we can say is just that Ross is even still alive, all things considered. This is a dude who routinely loves to put himself in harm’s way and/or think with his heart long before he even considers thinking with his head.

Warning: spoilers ahead from tonight!

We certainly wonder whether or not the arrival of Hugh will make things more complicated for George, given that he is someone of nobility who could be perceived as a threat. (We also do imagine that George wishes that Drake just died in France so that he could push Morwenna into her terrible political marriage.)

As for what else is coming, unfortunately there is a long road ahead for Dwight Enys following his release — he will be dealing with some PTSD, and it’s hard to imagine that Caroline or anyone else is going to be all that equipped to handle the struggles that lie ahead for him.
