The Night Shift season 4 episode 4 spoilers: Scott won’t give up…

Night Shift season 4 episode 4

Following tonight’s episode, where will The Night Shift season 4 episode 4 take the story? The first thing to note here is that TC’s still overseas. We wonder how long the writers will keep him there, and we imagine that it’s a difficult balancing act there. On one level, you want to be able to have Eoin Macken alongside the remainder of his cast. However, story-wise there is a specific reason why he went overseas in the first place. It’s probably going to take something drastic to get him back, and so far, the death of Topher doesn’t seem to be it. Will Annie’s death (if she’s dead) do it?

The good news is that while overseas, TC will continue to do his best to help other people in need — even though in the process he could be putting his life on the line. For more on that, and what some other residents of the hospital have going on, be sure to check out the official synopsis below.

The Night Shift season 4 episode 4 synopsis – “When a patient from a distant town journeys to SAM for surgery, Scott (Scott Wolf) commits to helping her against all odds. Jordan (Jill Flint) and Cain (Mark Consuelos) help a wounded veteran come to terms with a diagnosis he doesn’t believe he has. Meanwhile, Drew (Brendan Fehr) struggles with the exhaustion of being a working parent and finds support from an unusual patient. After a long night, Kenny (JR Lemon) learns life is too short to worry about trivial matters. TC (Eoin Macken) joins a daring rescue mission in Syria.”

Clearly, there’s a good bit of action going on at the hospital to go along with the TC story, and we’re absolutely excited to see some of what is happening with the likes of Drew and Kenny. For Drew, it makes sense that he go through some of the struggles of being a first-time parent who has to manage a job with long hours and difficult conditions. We know that he’s capable of doing it, but there is something nice about a patient paying things forward and trying to help one of the people caring for them for a change.

Meanwhile, is it possible that the Kenny storyline is the beginning of a dark road for the character? We spoke with JR Lemon recently, and he previewed that there are some dark times coming.

Promo analysis – SPOILERS ahead

Below, you can see Scott doing whatever he can to save someone who he refuses to let die. Is that person Annie, who made it back to the hospital somehow still alive? With the way he is treating this patient, it is fair to wonder that question. Alas, beyond this scene of Scott’s desperate attempts to save someone there’s not much else here.
