DeMario Jackson’s Bachelor in Paradise interview sheds light on incident
In the first part of a two-part interview airing on E! today, Jackson detailed some of what happened on the night of the incident with Corinne, saying that the two bonded at first over them being perceived as “villains” on their respective seasons. From there, things started to get flirty and then some, which led to the two of them heading towards the pool. At this point, he started to realize that he needed to make sure there was a record of what happened:
“When you’re … an African-American man, you always look for things that can help you out. I made sure the cameras followed us. That’s when the Spidey senses went up.”
The tape through all of this has been a central part of the investigation into whether or not a sexual assault occurred on that night. Studio Warner Bros. concluded that nothing of the sort occurred, which is why filming is happening once more on the show. There is no precise word on when the new season will premiere, but DeMario and Corinne are each planning to move forward from the show and, for the time being, have no plans to appear on this season.
Corinne has yet to give a TV interview discussing the incident, other than issuing a statement saying that she was a victim. She has hired an attorney, who is continuing an investigation of his own into the incident. For now, signs point towards her blaming production much more than anything that happened with DeMario. (In turn, DeMario suggested that she was the aggressor in the situation more so than the other way around.)
There is a new episode of The Bachelorette airing on ABC tonight, but DeMario at the moment is gone from the show after being booted earlier this season following his girlfriend showing up.
