Ink Master season 9 episode 4 preview: Made Rich gets intense

Ink Master season 9 episode 4

Tonight on Ink Masteryou saw the arrival (and return) of Made Rich with his shop think Before You Ink. They made their presence felt early and often, but they also found themselves nearly eliminated in the midst of a detail challenge gone awry and for Made Rich that could’ve been disastrous since that challenge was created to test his weaknesses specifically.

Moving into next week, it doesn’t look like Think Before You Ink will be trying to be any more low-profile. While they could have taken advantage of the opportunity to sit back and let some of the other teams rattle each other’s cages, the preview for the next new episode is making it look like Made Rich will be getting into it with other artists on two separate occasions. First, he is going to have at it with Bang of Tri-Cities Tattoo, who is mostly just trying to stay afloat at this point given that the relationship with her partner is crumbling. Following that, he’s going to do something so aggravating that it causes April Nicole of Artistic Skin Designs to leave the room.

Made Rich talked a lot about strategy entering the game, and he clearly thinks that there is a lot of value in trying to create more tension in an already stressful competition. Could he just be trying to rattle people in hopes that they perform worse? Definitely, and given how good Artistic Skin Designs has been so far this season, they are good people to rattle — they do their work, they don’t fight, and they are well-suited for whatever comes up in this competition. The downside is that in rattling people you also rattle yourself. There is also another issue here in that you run the risk of getting everyone so mad at you that they bury you with bad skull picks during elimination challenges just in hopes that you go home and leave them alone. There is a legitimate fear to worry about with this sort of thing, since what happened with Black Anchor shows everyone that one bad tattoo at a bad time can sink someone in this competition.

We’re also admittedly worried for Allegory Arts, given that they’ve had so much internal strife that sooner or later, they could bubble over. They may be together both in business and in life, but that doesn’t mean that they’ve done a lot of tattoos together. This is clearly something that they are still having to figure out.
