The Bachelorette episode 4 spoilers: Kenny King vs. Lee Garrett
So what’s the source of the conflict? This is actually an age-old part of The Bachelorette at this point — anger over someone not getting the time with Rachel Lindsay that they feel like they deserve. Kenny is upset over the fact that Lee interrupted his time with Rachel twice, which he should be. If you do it once, it’s annoying; if you do it twice, it’s almost intentional. This would anger almost any dude in the house, which is probably why Dean says in a confessional that he hopes Kenny punches Lee in the face.
What seems to be the truth here as a whole is that there aren’t too many people on this season of The Bachelorette who fancy themselves big-time Lee fans, and that certainly carries itself over to social media. The controversy surrounding his offensive tweets has died down as of late because of the Bachelor in Paradise scandal that is taking place, but you do have to imagine that this is something that is going to come up and be a subject of conversation at some point before we end up getting to the end of his time on the show. (Hopefully, that is sooner rather than later — someone being racist on Twitter isn’t the sort of “fun” controversy that we like to discuss when it comes to the show.)
As for Kenny, we do like what he brings to the table! We don’t see him being overtly angry here so much as he’s just trying to stand up for himself and what he perceives to be right. He’s not starting drama for the sake of it; still, we don’t perceive him being the most likely guy to win this season. Maybe he makes it close to hometowns and is that guy Rachel sends home because he wouldn’t want to meet his child unless she was sure that there was something major there between the two of them.
