MasterChef season 8 episode 4 preview: The first team challenge
So where is the competition going next week? How about to the first team challenge? By now, you know the drill — there are teams facing off in order to impress the judges, and at some point they’ll each screw up and Gordon Ramsay will threaten to send them all home. That’s pretty par for the course. The losing team will either lose someone in the kitchen after the fact, or have to face off in the (dramatic repose) “Dreaded Pressure Test” where someone will go home from there.
Remember that there were three contestants on tonight’s episode who were granted immunity, and we have to believe that this will transfer over. That is important given that this could change the dynamics of the challenge in a big way if one of them or all three of them end up screwing up during the challenge. Theoretically, we could have a situation where the worst home cook doesn’t end up going home, and it could someone who does a mediocre but not terrible job.
Over the course of the season, we will use this space further to break down some of the people who are in danger and who’s in trouble. However, it’s a little hard to do that now given that we’ve only had one challenge to date that featured the entirety of the field. Heather and Sam are the two who have to prove themselves the most after being in danger right out of the gate, but they may also have something going for them in the gift of further experience. They’ve gotten more guidance from the judges and experienced serious adversity in a way that few other people have.

The link here is going to be your source for all things MasterChef all season long. This will include exit interviews; we’re going to try to coordinate something with Mark, so be on the lookout for that.
