Zoo season 3 episode 1 spoilers: More details on premiere episode!
“No Place Like Home” isn’t just an iconic line from the classic movie The Wizard of Oz; it just so happens to be the title for Zoo season 3 premiere, a story that is going to kick off a new chapter for the CBS drama. The photo above is one of your first looks at Jackson (James Wolk) in the new season, which is set a good decade after everything that happened in season 2.
If there is one thing that the show is absolutely great at, it’s cultivating these sorts of scary post-apocalyptic situations. Through the first two seasons of the show, the main issue was all of the various animal attacks; now, one of big issues is biology, given that all of humanity is sterile. Is this really going to be the end of civilization? We feel that this is a great reason to get the team back together to work on a way to reverse the effects of the Noah Initiative.
Just in case that wasn’t enough of a roadblock already, there is also a certain issue known as the hybrids running around causing some major problems. The synopsis below offers up a little more news as to what to expect:
“In season three, the year is 2027, and the world has reached a tipping point: as the human population continues to dwindle due to the sterility problem, an equally devastating threat rises in the form of “the hybrids,” an army of unstoppable lab-made creatures, hell-bent on destroying mankind”
The hybrids are a scary, super-mysterious threat for the show, but we have to figure this was a lot of fun for the folks over in visual effects. Rather than just making a tiger or some other animal, they could come up with some of their own ghastly creations and play around with them a little bit. We can’t wait to see what they have come up with! The presence of these creatures should help add some more skin in the game for our team since they not only have to deal with the serialization issues, but now on top of it they have hybrids to get a handle on. Season 2 found a way to escalate things, and pull at our heartstrings when we thought that Mitch was dead, but if season 3 could bring our team back together we would be thrilled. We know that the time jump of 10 years changes things (and people) so we don’t know that the team getting back together will be like slipping on our most favorite, comfy track pants, but we hope that with their growth over those years, they will be an even stronger team. Mostly we want to see Mitch and Jamie together again.
