Could Amanda Bynes of All That, The Amanda Show return to TV?

In one way or another, we’re likely always going to root for Amanda Bynes to figure out a way to make a comeback. The Amanda Show and All That are two shows firmly ingrained in our childhood psyche, and she was at one point described as someone with the potential to be the next Lucille Ball or Carol Burnett. Unfortunately, over the past several years a wide array of issues have plagued her, issues that we don’t really need to regurgitate here, mostly because there are already a million or so different articles out there who tackle it in-depth.

The good news today is that it seems as though she is getting ready to get herself back in the spotlight once more, and she feels as though she is ready to do so. After all, Bynes just gave her first interview in four years to Hollyscoop, where she took on a wide array of different topics. She claimed that her now-infamous tweet about Drake “murdering” a certain part of her anatomy was intentional. However, at the same time she was also on drugs at the time and thought that it would be funny. (Not so much on that.)

She also made it clear that she is interested in getting back to television:

“I do miss acting and I have something surprising to tell you: I’m going to start acting again. I want to do TV. Maybe [I’ll do] a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of it.”

There’s no doubt in our mind that there will by someone out there interested in bringing Bynes on for a guest spot given her notoriety, and the potential that this should bring in terms of ratings and attention. It’s probably a little too early to think about her frontlining a new TV show, but she could start to prove herself here and there again. Her struggle is that she has to effectively start from scratch, but like she did when she was a kid on All That. It’ll take time to build everything up and her past will always be a part of her narrative, but if she wants to give it a shot, why not try it?
