Nashville season 5 episode 14 spoilers: Maddie’s in trouble; Damien drama
Before anything else, let’s get to sharing the short CMT synopsis now:
Nashville season 5 episode 14 synopsis – “Maddie and Clay get pulled over by a police officer; Juliette searches for the perfect song to re-launch her career; Damien George returns to Nashville with grand ideas for Scarlett.”
For Maddie, this potential arrest situation comes at a time when her career should be skyrocketing, given that she has the support of Juliette and the support of people around her who seem intent on making her into a big superstar no matter what. Having her public image tarnished in any way would be an enormous blow to her and her future.
It may just be good for her to have a larger story after tonight’s installment was by and large so Juliette-centric … and even with the arrest she may still be in a better place than Juliette, who realizes that she needs a huge hit to wash away the gospel record and its negative reviews. She’s too talented a performer and too big a name in the city to write her off; plus, who doesn’t love a big comeback story? She just has to find better ways to do it than what she did with the choir tonight.
For potentially less positive news once more, turn to Damien’s return (which technically kicked off tonight) and what that could mean for Scarlett given that she is expecting his child. Gunnar already made his plans clear, but he could find a way to easily upset the metaphorical apple cart and bring everyone into disarray. Nashville as a show operates best within chaos; unfortunately, the characters on said show likely wouldn’t feel the same. In some ways, we’re all gluttons for watching the hard times and struggles of these people.
