Outlander season 3: The beginning of the end in South Africa
What does the end of season 3 filming mean? For some, it’s rather simple: A break, and a chance to catch a quick breath before more commitments down the line. Following season 3 production, after all, there are some other orders of business that need to be attended to, including an extensive press tour, premiere events, and potential ADR work that needs to be done after the fact. The main difference there is that re-recording lines is not something that needs to be done on-location.
For the crew, there is far more work that needs to be done as the episodes will go down into the edit bay, everything will be pieced together, and of course some of the wonderful score will be added. The show has so much polish done after the fact to make it the show that it is!
To think, so much still needs to be done here, and we and so many other writers are going ahead and started to speculate over what could be turning up in Outlander season 4! Maybe a part of that is due to the knowledge that production for that season could feasibly take place later this year, though nothing is confirmed on that front just yet. The only thing that is assured is that there will be a great deal of filming in Scotland, even with it doubling as some other places including America.
So with South Africa production wrapping up soon, take stock in many of the memories and fun that was had there, whether it be the seaside images of the cast or the pretty gorgeous shots of Table Mountain. One of the things that Outlander does so effectively is make you feel like a part of their world, really no matter where they are filming.
