Should Outlander season 3 air new teaser before The White Princess finale?

When The White Princess first premiered on Starz earlier this year, there was a rather lovely gift attached: A new teaser for Outlander season 3. It got viewers engaged for the future of the Sam Heughan – Caitriona Balfe series, and it also brought some more attention to the history drama in its early days.

Now that The White Princess is getting set to end on Starz this coming weekend, should the same thing be considered once more? There are certainly some reasons to consider it:

1. More attention for The White Princess finale – The show certainly deserves it first and foremost. It’s of the highest quality and features great performances across the board; unfortunately, it got somewhat lost in the shuffle publicity-wise in between all of the stuff going on in the May sweeps.

While the show has drawn some pretty solid live+same day ratings for Starz since its premiere, giving viewers another reason to watch doesn’t help. One thing we’d love to know is if there are any viewers out there who watched The White Princess just for the Outlander teaser and found themselves getting hooked. 2. An appetizer for the Outlander trailer later this summer – It is a little early for a full-fledged trailer for the show to come out, given that its premiere is not until September. We’re of the belief now that said trailer will either premiere before an episode of Power this summer or at San Diego Comic-Con in July. This is a way to tide everyone over until then.

3. A way to commemorate the end of Outlander season 3 filming – Production is now in the home stretch in South Africa, so if there was ever a time to have a new preview out there, this would be it. Also, maybe you can include two or three seconds of footage of Jamie and Claire at sea at this point. (It’d probably be footage from when filming first started there earlier this spring, given that it does take some time to turn raw footage around.)

As of yet, there isn’t any real buzz about a new teaser for Outlander season 3 coming — then again, if there is one it may not be discussed until a little bit later in the week.
