The Bachelorette episode 2 spoilers: Peter Kraus gets first one-on-one date
This week, ABC released the official synopsis for this upcoming episode, and one of the big things that they teased is this date between Rachel and the Wisconsin business owner, who you can read more about by heading over to the link here to see a spotlight:
“Peter is whisked away for the first one-on-one date of the season. A third party – Rachel’s adorable dog, Copper – joins them as they fly to Palm Springs for a day at a pool party with other dogs at “Bark Fest.” The date continues as the pair share a romantic dinner where they connect over their past heartbreak and delight to a fireworks display especially for them.”
There are a couple of quick observations to make about this date right away. First, this actually seems a little bit like the sort of date real people would actually go on, given that people love hanging out with their dogs and it’s such a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The pool party part of it may be a tad extreme, but this is also Palm Springs and nobody in their right mind wants to just stand around boiling under the sun there. Even a couple of months ago, this is still a place where it can get scalding hot in a rather short period of time.
The other observation here is simply that the two are going to have a good bit of time to connect here. It’s a short flight over to Palm Springs, but in between getting there and back plus the date, this does really sound like an all-day thing. The one thing that Peter will have to remember here is that the recipient of the first one-on-one date is rarely the person who actually wins the show at the end. It is a sign that the Bachelorette is interested in you, but it’s just like in life: The person who you may be the most eager to date may also not be the person who is actually right for you. This date is a good chance to break the ice, but Peter will have to sit back after that to see Rachel’s relationships evolve with other men. That can be tough.
