Nashville season 5 episode 12 spoilers: ‘Back in the Saddle Again’
While this is a title that very easily has an attachment to the world of country music, there is clearly something more going on here at the same exact time. This title may be a reference to the show’s attempts to further build up momentum and steam again in what is a new chapter. Losing Rayna James is a big blow to the story creatively, and there is little doubt that Connie Britton is the biggest star within the cast.
Yet, there are still many big stories to be told and drama to be had with the remaining characters, and much of it is entertaining. There is something about the Juliette – Maddie dynamic that is engaging, and a fun reflection of where the show has gone over the years and also what Juliette has been through. Meanwhile, the synopsis below offers up a pretty good indication (via SpoilerTV) of what is coming:
“Deacon helps Daphne with a school project, but Daphne feels unmotivated. Juliette gives Maddie unsolicited advice about a song. Scarlett and Gunnar receive news about the baby.”
Admittedly, the Scarlett / Gunnar storyline is the one that is the most challenging to endure on our end, mostly because it’s a little too similar to everything that’s been seen on the show before. To be fair, though, the storyline isn’t wrapped up and there may be many interesting new ways in which the storyline unfolds that are different and help it to stand out further. Many of these possibilities are still out there, awaiting to be unlocked in some way.
Also, the show is still bracing for the debuts of Kaitlin Doubleday and Rachel Bilson in roles that will further help to shake up the series and its overall foundation. In the case of the latter, what’s great about Bilson’s Alyssa starts with how she is very much different than anyone seen on the series so far.
