NCIS: New Orleans season 3 finale spoilers: Pride, Hamilton square off
For much of the past several weeks, there’s been a battle brewing between Pride and the Mayor over some of his corruption. Think of it almost as a gumbo starting to simmer. All of the flavors have been mixing nicely, and you’re getting nice little tastes of it here and there. For the finale. Someone is taking that gumbo and pouring it all over your head. This is going to be intense, violent, crazy, and will push characters to new and surprising places. By the time the finale ends, the hope is that the show manages to deliver some big punches that leave you surprised for a long time entering what is certain to be a fairly lengthy hiatus.
One thing you can figure out from the promo in just how high the stakes are, and what could happen in the case that a clearly-unhinged Hamilton gets the upper hand on Pride. This could turn deadly — heck, it almost did for Scott Bakula’s character already. It’s easy to argue that his presence alive and well in the promo is somewhat of a spoiler, but did you really think that CBS would get rid of the star of their show? He’s a survivor, and he’s going to find a way presumably to survive this … however challenging it may be. This is the best battle that Pride’s faced since the beginning of the series, and hopefully there will be some further exciting stuff coming up.
In the end, the best thing to have entering the season 3 finale of NCIS: New Orleans is assurance. There is a season 4 coming, and this season should be looked at as a rather-great model to determine where to go moving forward if the priority is to deliver on as much craziness mixed with character development as possible. In general, this season feels a little bit more like the Los Angeles iteration than the flagship with some of its more serialized stories.
