Survivor: Game Changers episode 12: Who benefits most from family visit?

family visit

Tonight on Survivor: Game Changers episode 12, we witness the return of a tradition in the family visit. It’s one of the most emotional parts of the game, and it’s one that does offer up a little more strategic value that you would sense on the surface. There is a sort of Stockholm Syndrome that develops after you spend a lot of time with the same people — you think of them as your friends, and you likely lose sight of the prize at the end of the day. You’re playing for your family as opposed to these reality stars you mostly know from within the confines of the game.

So who stands to benefit the most from the visit tonight? Based on the preview below and the season at large, we have a few suggestions.

Brad – Hey, he’s the only remaining player likely to have a former player come out in his wife Monica. (It’d be strange not to see her all things considered!) She can give him more strategic insight, and allow him to take further control of the game.

Troyzan – We’ve seen almost nothing of him so far this game, so maybe this tells him that he needs to take his strategic game more into overdrive as opposed to sitting within an alliance with his idol. (We’re well aware that he is probably doing more than the show is giving us.)

Cirie – Seeing her and her husband out there together probably endears her further in the players, and it may give her more time to think about whether her current configuration of players is the right one. (We’d consider trying to swap out Andrea, a big threat to win, with someone else.)

Tai – It may be most useful to Tai as a way to get new direction; after he got votes from his old alliance this past week, he may feel somewhat expendable. Given that he did vote for Sierra, though, can he really be all that mad about it?
