Kevin Can Wait season 2 premiere date: When should it be?
What we do know is that the show did come up with a rather good way to end the first season by bringing out Leah Remini as a guest star. One of the reasons why the first season of the show succeeded in the first place was because of nostalgia for The King of Queens, so it was smart for the show to try and lean into that a little bit more than they do some of the other storylines that they have. If nothing else, it is a great way to get some additional viewers watching the last episode of the season.
Aside from the improved ratings we imagine the show getting tonight, we do anticipate that a Kevin Can Wait season 2 is going to be premiering at some point in late September. This is, after all, when the first season of the show premiered, and it proved to be a worthy ratings anchor for the remainder of the night. One of the big strategies right now for CBS seems to be relying heavily on family comedies with established stars, and if Kevin Can Wait can make it through the first few seasons, it will then get a chance to enter syndication. This specifically could be a rather enormous game-changer for it in getting casual viewers. After all, we can draw a big parallel between it and Last Man Standing, a show that impressed over much of this past season after entering syndication.
So when could a Kevin Can Wait season 2 premiere date be announced? Think along the lines of the summer. Later this month at upfronts, CBS will confirm the show’s temporary timeslot for the second season. This is the same timeslot that The King of Queens was on, so there is a good reason to have plenty of faith in the future.
As for whether or not we could see Remini again in season 2, you have to imagine so. She has such a history with Kevin, and we’re not just talking about their old show; we’re also talking about Kevin’s character.
