Better Call Saul season 3 episode 5: How Kim’s resentment could grow

Better Call Saul season 3

With Better Call Saul season 3 episode 5 airing on AMC Monday night, why not check out the sneak peek we have for you? This preview is focused in part on Kim’s resentment, and just how much we could see some of that grow in the wake of the Jimmy – Chuck conflict.

To date, we have to give Rhea Seehorn’s character some credit for handling the situation so much better than we ever thought that she would. She’s tried to remain composed in the face of obvious adversity, knowing that the man she cares about is also a scoundrel. She’s accepted the fact that any association with him could in turn hurt her own career, though she’s been cautious enough to technically have her own law practice so that his misdeeds don’t end up sinking her.

Yet, at the same time what he’s doing still could bring her down the hole with him. This sneak peek makes it abundantly clear what the blowback of Jimmy’s latest actions could affect her. She has to inform Mesa Verde that the actions of Jimmy and Chuck could have influenced how she ended up with them as clients, and their case could cause some public embarrassment. Like the good attorney she is, she tells them this information for the sake of full disclosure.

Kim puts on a good face, but imagine her humiliation in the event her only client pulls out after all of this work. Then, imagine the aftereffects, the consequences that could come as a result of this. For almost the entirety of Better Call Saul season 3, one of the things that we’ve wondered is when the tipping point would arrive? When could we see the one moment that causes Kim to walk away from this mess? It’s guilty by association, and maybe the benefits that she gets as a result of this relationship aren’t quite worth it anymore – especially if she is looking at the longevity of her career.

For us, we do think that this is far from the end with Kim and Jimmy. Given everything that they’ve encountered so far, it makes sense to think that their journey will continue.

What do you think about the sneak peek for this episode, and do you think that losing Mesa Verde could be the straw that broke the metaphorical camel’s back? Sound off in the comments.
