Big Brother Canada 5 live feed spoilers: Final 8 Veto Ceremony results

Final 8 Veto ceremony

The final 8 Veto Ceremony took place this morning in the Big Brother Canada 5 house, and everything largely went according to plan.

Demetres predictably used the Power of Veto on himself, which meant in turn that Kevin put Jackie on the block as a replacement nominee. We do think that this was the right move for Kevin there, given that nobody really likes Jackie and her going on the block won’t bring her closer together with anyone in the house. Jackie’s still probably a final two goat if there ever was one, but she can probably expect to be on the block a few more times before the end of the season.

Right now, Ika seems to be evicted from the game, though we don’t necessarily think that this is that cut-and-dry just yet given that Ika has the support of Demetres, and to go along with that further, also has someone in Dre who frequently waffles. While she did a great job of playing Ika the past few weeks, she’s also starting to play herself given her penchant for debating as to whether or not she is doing the right thing. We could easily see her feeling guilty and trying to keep Ika given how implicitly Ika trusts her, and then trying to rope in William in order to do it. A final four of Ika, Demetres, William, and Dre is pretty powerful, though we can’t imagine that either Dre or William want to go to the final four with someone who is as obvious a physical threat as Demetres is.

Our big takeaway this morning is that Demetres seems especially aware of some of Dre’s suspicious behavior, and seems to be over her in the game. Ika still has on blinders to what she is doing, but that really doesn’t matter if she leaves. Demetres may actually hover over to the likes of Kevin and Dillon, which could be an interesting alliance entering the triple eviction — and it may be one of the few ways Kevin avoids the block there. There’s no way he can predict that, so we don’t blame him for not thinking with that in mind. (We wrote about this potential guys’ alliance earlier this week over at the link here.)
