Doctor Who season 10 episode 4 spoilers: Don’t go in the house…

On Doctor Who season 10 episode 4 coming your way on BBC One next week, it looks as though we’re going to get a chance to see a twist on a classic trope: The creepy house that you should never enter under any circumstance ever. We imagine that there is going to be a lot of fun to be had with this story as we get an opportunity to see The Doctor and Bill venture into some creepy, unexpected places, and we’re absolutely excited to see that!

However, at the same time we do very much wonder as to what the tone for this episode is going to be in advance. On the surface, this one sounds like a particularly creepy monster movie, but sometimes with this show it is rather difficult to piece much of that together until you actually see the episode play out. At that point, some of the pieces to the puzzle start to become a little bit clearer as to what the writers are intending.

Doctor Who season 10 episode 4 synopsis – “Why do floorboards creak? When a sinister landlord shows Bill and her friends the perfect houseshare, they have no idea what lies ahead… knock knock, who’s there?”

In reading that alone, the big takeaway that you more than likely are going to have is that there is some sort of great monster storyline coming up here. Given that this is Doctor Who, the odds feel fairly low that you’re going to see some sort of puppy on the other side waiting to be hugged and embraced. That would be kind of funny, but it’d probably be the sort of thing that would send most of social media into an uproar.

On paper, this episode’s synopsis is reminiscent of “Listen,” one of our favorites from the Peter Capaldi era. As for whether it lives up to that billing, we will have to find out when the story actually airs.
