Following tonight’s big return, Gotham season 3 episode 16 is hoping to keep the momentum going with a new episode next week. We do already know that there is one thing that is making it stand out above all of the others — the presence of one Ben McKenzie as the director! This episode, entitled “Heroes Rise: These Delicate and Dark Obsessions,” is the first time that the actor has taken on this role on the show.
Sometimes when you do see actors direct an episode of their own show, it’s one that they are largely MIA for. However, in this case that doesn’t exactly seem accurate based on some of the details that were recently released by Fox.
Gotham season 3 episode 16 synopsis – “The Court of Owls devises a new plan regarding the future of Gotham, as Gordon uncovers information about his father and uncle’s past, connecting him back to the organization. Meanwhile, Bruce wakes up in the temple and learns of the Shaman’s wish for him.”
It’s clear in reading this that this will be an important episode as we start to watch Bruce uncover some of the secrets within the Court of Owls, and slowly start to unravel a mystery that will eventually lead to the discovery of one Ra’s al Ghul. He will be a central figure for the end of the season, and depending on what the writers decide to do, he could also be a key component in a potential season 4. Granted, we do still have to get there before we can start celebrate getting another season of the show.
Promo – This gives you a good sense at some of the Bruce story coming up — it’ll be creepy, it’ll be haunting, and it’s going to be different than anything that you’ve seen from him so far as his journey is going to progress rather quickly from here.
