Feud season 2: The current timeline for Charles – Diana season
Our feeling is simply this — as long as the story is fair, it’s okay to look at someone who is flawed. You can still be admired, and in some ways, it may be better if the current generation can relate to you. We never thought that we’d feel for Joan Crawford as much as we did at the end of Feud season 1, but yet here we are and that is precisely the sentiment that we feel.
Speaking to Deadline on the subject of what is coming for this season, show executive producer Ryan Murphy had the following to say:
“We are shooting I think in the late fall and I’m casting Charles and Diana … Charles and Diana’s story literally begins with filing the divorce papers. It’s about that pain of the dissolving of a fairy tale, particularly for Diana. It starts with the filing of divorce papers and takes you up until her death.”
For those wondering, both Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon are going to stay on board as producers for Feud season 2 — we assume that there will be an attempt to find roles for the two of them, though that’s something we’ll have to figure out more as the show gets closer to airing. Filming is of course still a ways out, and it’s far too early to tell when the show is actually going to premiere. As we said yesterday, we would assume that season 2 would premiere in the spring or summer of next year, but that’s mere speculation and it is firmly up to the folks over at FX in order to properly determine that.
For the time being, what is your own excitement level on the Charles – Diana story? Do you think it can match season 1, or are you uncomfortable with the subject matter? Be sure to share now in the comments! (Photo: FX.)
