Feud season 2 premiere date speculation; will Jessica Lange return?

Feud season 2 premiere

Given that tonight marks the end of Feud: Bette & Joanwhen could the Feud season 2 premiere be? That’s what we hope to figure out here.

Let’s start things off with a reminder that you shouldn’t expect the show back anytime soon. Speaking per Deadline, show executive producer Ryan Murphy confirmed that filming for Feud: Charles & Diana (that’s at least the working title around the internet) will start filming in the fall. With that considered, we could imagine the show premiering once more in the spring, or maybe the summer of 2018 depending how long of a production window the show needs.

One thing that you also need to remember here is that 2018 will be a much busier year for FX in terms of having great programming from Murphy across the board. Not only will you have Feud season 2 and also another season of American Horror Story (it should be at season 8 at that point), but you’re also going to have two seasons of American Crime Story, one focusing on Hurricane Katrina and another on Gianni Versace. This is at least the plan at present, with these two shows being produced almost concurrently. (The Katrina series has faced some delays as the team works to get together the scripts.)

As for the cast, we already know that Murphy is in the process of finding the right person to play Princess Diana; beyond that, he hopes to bring back Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon in some capacity. We presume that a big part of the problem with this season is going to be the simple fact that there are only so many different roles available for true-life stories, and you have to find the parts that are right for them that they will in turn want to play. Hopefully, the show will be able to figure this out without too many problems … but time will tell.

All we know is that the show finds a way in order to match the super-high expectations that they’ve already set for themselves. Just remember for a quick moment here how fantastic season 1 has been from start to finish. It’s been a true master class of acting.

Be sure to come back later tonight, as we will have our full review of the Feud finale online over at the link here.
