Doesn’t the time feel right for a Supergirl season 2 episode 18 sneak peek? It certainly feels like we’ve been waiting long enough.
Now, the timing for waiting is over! In the sneak peek below via TVLine, you can get a prime opportunity in order to see Kara meet for the first Jack Spheer (Rahul Kohli of iZombie fame), a brilliant science mastermind and also a former flame of Lena Luthor. He is is National City giving a presentation, and it becomes clear to Kara almost immediately as to why there is some sort of chemistry between the two. He’s very charming, and she seems thrown off both by that and by Lena’s praise of her ability as a reporter.
After this meeting is where things start to get a little bit more interesting, as Kara is confronted by someone else claiming that they have information on Spheer that they only trust her with. She gets a little bit of information regarding where to meet this person, and it’s certainly separate from everything going on here. Said meeting’s also happening at night, which in turn only adds to the overall feeling of secrecy being cultivated here.
By the end of this preview, we’re certainly more excited for the episode than we even were going into it, as this seems to reinforce further that “Ace Reporter” is going to be a story about Kara just as much as it is Supergirl, and about quality reporting and the work that can be done through it. Consider this one of the few times where there could be some subtle politics at play. We live in a society that tends to go at reporters rather than trust them at their word, so this is arguably something that the show will try to change — and understandably so. Not all reporters out there are great and have the best intentions in mind, but there are also some others out there that do want the truth and want to educate their readers in a responsible manner.
In the end, we’ll see what comes out of everything in this episode.
