Talking with Chris Hardwick tonight: Michelle Monaghan appears (video)
If you read us often, you may know already that we’re an avid listener of the Nerdist Podcast, and check it out pretty much every time there is a new show. While we understood it when he took the number of those down a week from three to one (the guy’s gotta sleep sometime), we did still lament the amount of material. Talking helps to change the game there. It gives you basically a hybrid of Talking Dead and the podcast on the air, and then after the episode (at least through the first two), an extended edition is uploaded to the podcast feed.
This probably sounds like an advertisement, but it’s not — we just love Hardwick’s long-form interviewing style and this show is a venue to have that happen on TV. It’s fun, it’s lighthearted when it needs to be, and it’s also insightful. The episode last week with the cast of Silicon Valley was an absolute delight given that you were getting the chance to see a lot of comedy guys both goof off and spill some insight on their careers and the relationships that they have with each other.
Tonight’s episode (which airs at 11:00 p.m. Eastern time) features Hardwick talking with none other than The Path star and True Detective alum Michelle Monaghan. Obviously, Monaghan has done a wide array of movies over the course of her career, but we’re a TV site and we stick with what we know. You can see a sneak peek for the episode below, one where she talks about some of the occasionally-hilarious awkwardness that goes with having to film a love scene with someone you barely know, while there are some camera-people and crew members awkwardly huddling all around you in hopes of getting the best shot possible.
All in all, it should make for another good show. Talking with Chris Hardwick airs of course on AMC, and will be around in the weeks that there are no zombies to discuss.
