The Leftovers season 3 episode 3 promo: The story of Kevin Garvey Sr.
Also, it looks like this may be the biggest showcase that we’ve had a chance to see to date for Kevin Garvey Senior, a man who’s been an integral part of the show in one way or another since the beginning. Scott Glenn wasn’t around for a lot of season 2, but show executive producer Damon Lindelof made it clear previously that there were still some big plans for this character that would come to fruition soon enough. This could happen now on “Crazy Whitefella Thinking,” which as a title at least suggests what some of the perception of Kevin Sr. is going to be. Whether or that is true, that remains to be seen.
The Leftovers season 3 episode 3 synopsis – “With the clock ticking towards the anniversary of the Departure and emboldened by a vision that is either divine prophecy or utter insanity, Kevin Garvey, Sr. (Scott Glenn) wanders the Australian Outback in an effort to save the world from apocalypse.”
Is it possible that much of this episode could revolve around this character? We presume so, and certainly would not be upset over it given that this is a guy who is captivating, and many of the best episodes of The Leftovers are the ones that focus entirely around one character and some of what they are trying to do. Also, Kevin Sr. feels like the sort of guy who would think he could save the world. Whether or not he can, however, is a very different case on a show that does have an established reputation of being ambiguous.
Promo – You get a sense of Australia here, just as you get a sense of Kevin Sr.’s past and present. If you weren’t intrigued enough by the story of this guy — one of the most enigmatic characters on the show — all signs seems to indicate that this will be the episode where some of the doors are blown open. Be prepared for a powerful hour.
