Better Call Saul season 3 episode 3 spoilers: The Mike, Gus meeting cometh

Better Call Saul season 3 episode 3 synopsis – “Jimmy decides to represent a new client, much to Kim’s dismay. Meanwhile, Mike meets a formidable ally who presents an enticing offer.”
It’s easier to focus on the Mike portion of the storyline here in advance of adding in spoilers from tonight’s new episode, largely because of the fact that we know a thing or two already about what is coming. Obviously, there is a history of a Mike – Gus collaboration from Breaking Bad, and we know eventually that Jimmy is going to get involved here … but as Saul. At this point, we’re just waiting to get to the point where Jimmy fully gets to that point. Kim is probably one of the things that is holding him back, but we have to think that at some point, that breaking point will be here.
For the time being, though, we’ll still contend that we’re fine with the show taking its time to turn Jimmy into Saul. We’re enjoying the journey to date, and we really like Jimmy. That is what will make it so heartbreaking when he becomes Saul at some point during the season. You know it’s coming, and his moral compass will be gone.
Promo – This confirms that the Gus – Mike meeting is coming, but it also touches on the other big shock of tonight: The arrest of Jimmy after barging into Chuck’s place to destroy the tape recorder. We knew this was coming thanks to various teasers before the season, but it was still hard to watch given that it symbolizes in some ways Chuck’s role in the transformation from Jimmy into Saul Goodman. After getting arrested after his brother took advantage of him, how does Jimmy change? Is he the same person?
