Supergirl season 2 spoilers: More on conflict in key ‘Alex’ episode
As you may recall from the synopsis, Alex is going to find herself taken over the course of the episode, which leaves Supergirl in an incredibly delicate position that in order to rescue her, she would have to allow for some dangerous people to be out on the street. Basically, she would be abdicating her duties as a superhero in order to be the best sister that she could possibly be.
So how could things get even more interesting? Well, a good bit of that stems from the fact that over the course of this episode, you are going to get a chance to see some conflict between Kara and Alex’s girlfriend Maggie over the right way to save her. They’re obviously not going to give into the demands of a villain, but they also have to agree on a plan. That could prove challenging. As a matter of fact, here is what Floriana Lima had to say on the subject to TVLine:
“They both have such strong feelings for Alex, and they’re both strong opinionated women who really are passionate about their work … So they’re going to butt heads a little bit.”
There is most likely not a reason to be concerned about some sort of epic divide opening up between the two, mostly because we have a hard time envisioning that the folks over at The CW want their viewers really seeing strong characters like this failing to get along for a substantial stretch of time.
Yet, we do still imagine that it’s going to be rather difficult seeing these two characters fight just because you want them to work together, and they have to know that they are so much stronger than they do. A little bit of conflict can be good, so you have to hope that maybe in stopping to think about things together, they will be able to come up with a solution that ends up working for both of them.
