Prepare for the Outlander season 3 teaser with more odds & ends
Yesterday, we posted some of our expectations for said teaser, but we do want to go ahead and reiterate one thing that is very much important for the teaser launch tonight — the fact that it is a full teaser and not a trailer. The distinction here is important, and we don’t want anyone to think that we’re going to get some two-minute video. We figure that we’ll be lucky to see a full minute’s worth of footage; our personal expectation is that it will be about thirty seconds or so. That’s enough of an Easter Sunday gift to be excited about.
Meanwhile, here are a few other important things worth noting.
Timing – Starz has said repeatedly that the teaser airs tonight before the launch of The White Princess at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. We would say to go ahead and tune in a few minutes before that just so that you can settle in and don’t miss much of anything.
What about the app? – According to the Outlander TV News Twitter (see below), the teaser is not going to be attached to the White Princess episode that is airing there. The same goes for On-Demand viewings. That makes sense mostly because that episode is meant to be almost evergreen through those services and is not attached to a specific time. Yet, it’s still disappointing for people who don’t watch the on-air version of the network.
Will the teaser be online? – You have to imagine that Starz will move quickly on having that happen, but an exact timeline is unclear. One way we would look at this, though, is that if they don’t post it quickly, they run the risk of other accounts on YouTube doing it. They are better off putting up the teaser on their channel as soon as possible in an attempt to set a personal traffic record.

Our feeling is that the first full-fledged trailer for Outlander season 3 could be coming later this summer, or potentially at around the end of The White Princess if the folks at Starz feel like there is great synergy between that show and this one.
