Survivor: Game Changers episode 8: The merge arrives
Before we do, we do suggest that you take a look at our archive page — that is where we touch on everything in terms of what happened between Jeff Varner and Zeke Smith tonight, and also whether or not CBS chose to handle it in the right way.
The merge – We’re going to now look ahead at what should be a fairly interesting merge. There are thirteen players still in the game, and what is fairly remarkable here is that of these players remaining, you have nine people from the original Nuku and only four from the original Mana. It would be easy for the original members of the Nuku tribe to just band together and pick the rest of the people in the game off.
Is that really the right move to make, though? Well, there are some interesting ways in which the game could evolve given that people like Aubry are now considered to be valuable numbers by Brad Culpepper, and he is also working with Troyzan. Maybe Hali ends up being a part of this coalition despite her previous distaste for Brad, given that some of her allies (including potentially Sierra) are there.
The biggest target on the board for now is clearly Ozzy, given that he is the biggest physical threat remaining. The fact that so many other strong guys are gone hurts him in terms of flying under the radar, and his own tribe contemplated briefly getting rid of him before Jeff Varner said what he said tonight.
As for who are some of the most dangerous players, we’re looking at someone like our winner pick in Sierra Dawn Thomas. She is a woman more than capable of winning individual challenges, and she’s also going to be seen as a little less threatening than she really is thanks to her resume. The same goes for Hali Ford now that she’s made it this far. Cirie Fields is also at a spot in the game where she tends to thrive, and what’s interesting is that she made it this far without going to a single Tribal Council.
