Longmire season 6 spoilers: First look at Katee Sackhoff on set!

Katee Sackhoff

Longmire season 6 filming is officially underway, and there are many different things worth celebrating about that. Near the top of the list of course is getting to see some new behind-the-scenes photos, and that includes the one below posted by actor Joel McKinnon Miller.

Based on the caption of himself alongside Katee Sackhoff (Vic), it appears as though Miller (best known for playing Scully on Brooklyn Nine-Nine) is going to be appearing on the show in some capacity — after all, you don’t tend to stumble into Santa Fe and take photos with Katee in costume for no reason. He also seems dressed for the occasion as someone who would be in Absaroka County, Wyoming.

There aren’t too many details out there as of yet regarding what is coming in season 6, including whether or not the show will be picking up right where season 5 left off or if it’s jumping forward to the future. We can see both decisions making some sense, but a whole lot of that is based on specifically what sort of stories the writers want to tell moving into the new season of the show. There is a certain excitement that comes with picking up where you left off, but there’s also something to be said for putting characters in a new place, one where they can find themselves getting into a whole lot more trouble.

Either way, we’ve got the absolute confidence in the writers in coming up with a story that makes sense for these characters and pays off the journey of Walt, Vic, and the rest of the core group. There are only ten episodes to go, and the thought of that is already making us sad. Just picture for a minute now how we’re probably going to feel when we get around to the final episodes of the season being filmed and everyone is starting to get emotional at the thought of dropping the curtain once and for all. It’s going to be tough, but we absolutely think it’ll be worth it.

Meanwhile, we’ve also got over at the link here some news about Lou Diamond Phillips directing his first episode of the series! It should prove pretty great to get a sense of some of his talent from the other side of the camera for a change. (Photo: Netflix.)
