Longmire season 6 premiere title reveled; Robert Taylor returns to Santa Fe

Longmire season 6 premiere title -

It’s been a while since we’ve had much in the way of tangible Longmire news, but that is changing today in the form of the official Longmire season 6 premiere title!

In a Twitter post from The Ferg himself in actor Adam Bartey, it was revealed that “The Eagle and the Osprey” is the Longmire premiere title. Executive producer Hunt Baldwin wrote the episode, while frequent director TJ Scott is back to bring it all together.

So what does that title mean? When we first saw it, it was our assumption that maybe this was a reference to a specific Aesop fable just based on the structure of the name. Therefore, we did a little bit of research on the subject … and we couldn’t find anything from the perspective of fables. However, we did learn that The Eagle and the Osprey just so happens to be the title for a World War II book written by David G. Weaver (see here). We know that Walt Longmire is particularly well-read, but that doesn’t guarantee that the title is anything more than that.

For all of those wondering why we’ve spent so much time analyzing the Longmire season 6 premiere title, it’s just something that we like to do here at CarterMatt. Many times titles have a deeper meaning to what the content of the episode could be, so we often put on our detective caps and get to digging.

In getting back to other Longmire headlines, Bartley also posted a video on social media of series star Robert Taylor back in Santa Fe, where the series will be filmed once more over the coming months. While production has not begun officially, this is yet another sign we’re on the way to getting there. Also, it’s rather fun to us that Taylor has a little bit in common with Walt when it comes to grabbing a beer.

We’re still unfortunately a rather long ways away from the season 6 premiere of Longmire — think around six months or so. Once filming is complete, the ball is then in Netflix’s court when it comes to how to unravel the final episodes. Once there is further news to report there, we’ll have it for you over at the archive page — just be prepared to be waiting for a little while.
