The Flash season 4 Big Bad won’t be speedster

The Flash season 4 -

Sure, we may still be many weeks away from the end of The Flash season 3, but this shouldn’t stop us from The Flash season 4 news! We’re happy to provide a little bit of that now.

While speaking over the weekend at PaleyFest in Los Angeles, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that there will not be a speedster at the center of the story next season. That would mark a first for the series, which came under fire at the start of this season for making it clear that they weren’t going in this direction. Personally, we’re still bitter that they haven’t done more with Mirror Master, but we concede that this is neither here nor there when it comes to importance.

There are still some possible candidates out there for Big Bad characters who haven’t appeared on the show just yet, though you could easily go with a new character created by the producers themselves. This is in part what Arrow has done with Prometheus. Sure, Adrian Chase exists in the comics, but was Vigilante there and a very different character in the end. We have no problem with them creating someone new if they have a good idea and it’s someone who could easily challenge this iteration of Barry Allen.

What was also teased at the event last night was that we’re going to be seeing Barry eventually travel to the future after we get past the eighteenth episode of the season “Abra Kadabra” in order to start getting some further information on who Savitar truly is. We’re still high on the theory that Barry from the future is someone the God of Speed, though that it is merely a theory and shouldn’t be taken altogether seriously by anyone out there.

The next new episode of The Flash is the musical installment entitled “Duet,” and it’s going to air on Tuesday night. There’ll be music throughout it, and you’ll also get a chance to understand some more of the motivations of the Music Meister. So far, those have been a little bit unclear beyond the fact that we’re getting a bit of a Glee reunion with Darren Criss joining Grant Gustin and Supergirl star Melissa Benoist in the role.
