Blue Bloods season 7 spoilers: Peter Hermann returns as Erin’s ex

There is no new episode of Blue Bloods airing on CBS Friday night, but we have some news for you now that is hopefully going to make the waiting for the next new installment of the show on March 31 a little bit easier: Scoop on a returning character!

Given that Erin Regan is always going to remain a part of this show (after all, it’s about her entire family), it makes sense that we see Peter Hermann return at some point as her ex-husband Jack. However, it’s hardly a happy meeting given that the two parties are going to be facing off in court when he turns back up on “. He will be representing someone she is trying to convict of murder, and given their history, you have to imagine it possible that there are some parts of this past connection that he could try to use to his advantage. Anytime that you get two people with any sort of past connection facing off in the courtroom, there is a pretty good chance that things are going to be intense.

Meanwhile, also in this episode you are going to see Frank finding himself in a tough situation when a mother accuses the NYPD of not putting forth the effort necessarily in order to determine precisely what happened to her son. Jamie will also be working with a new partner in the episode in Office Brenda Patimkin, who is being played by Sarah Mezzanotte (Lena from Royal Pains). There’s no word as to what’s happened to Eddie, but hopefully she’s still a part of his world in some way. Also, Brenda Patimkin is one letter away in the last name from her being the secret daughter of actor Mandy Patinkin. Homeland / Blue Bloods crossover, anyone? We gotta think that Danny could be useful in helping out the FBI…

Anyway, we know that will be a little while still until the next episode airs, but hopefully CBS will be kind enough to reveal some sort of promo or further information on the March 31 episode before we get a little closer to it airing.
