Supergirl season 2 episode 16 promo: The Kara, Mon-El drama to come

Supergirl season 2 episode 16 is unfortunately still one week away, and that’s a pretty hard pill to swallow. Does the promo below help to make up for it? We certainly like to think so.

The one bummer that remains present here is that for one reason or another, The CW isn’t being all that great of a job letting us know what is coming up on the musical part of this story (which will come about at the tail end of the episode). Instead, all we’ve got to go on for the time being is the further adventures of Kara and Mon-El, a couple that are probably on the verge of having a few more serious problems. Mon-El’s been keeping the rather-serious thing from her that someone is tracking him down, and that this said someone could be a very important person on his home planet. The consequences of this may not be super-severe, but it could still cause some problems between the two of them.

Let’s put it this way — would Kara really mind if he was a very important person on his home world? It seems hard to think that he she would. Instead, we feel like the one thing that she’d be the most upset about is the fact that it was kept from her. Maybe he didn’t think that it was pertinent information, or maybe he didn’t want to be judged.

Either way, be prepared to get a great deal of content courtesy of Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo over the coming weeks, given that these two parties are going to be at the center of this story. You’ll be getting a chance to see both of them probably for an extended period of time the rest of the season, especially as we start to see more of what they want with their son and also a little bit more in terms of how they feel about Kara. The cause for concern is this: It’s been well-documented at this point how there aren’t exactly the kindest of sentiments between the people from these two different planets, and that could mean some trouble for Kara as she has to try and navigate what’s going on and what Mon-El’s family thinks of her.

We want to think that everything’s going to be okay … but then we remember the words “Big Bad” being associated with Hatcher’s casting. That is enough to provide a slight sense of pause.
