The Bachelor finale spoilers: Raven Gates, Vanessa Grimaldi meet Nick Viall’s family

There are many parts of The Bachelor finale, but one that always does stand out is the family visit. Given that Nick Viall’s family is both rather large and also rather close to him, it feels fair to say already that it is probably more important this season than most others. We’re going to see Raven Gates and Vanessa Grimaldi get an opportunity to meet them and try to spend a little time getting to know them better.

Specifically, the synopsis below via ABC offers up a few more important details to keep you in the know:

“Raven makes a lasting first impression, winning over Nick’s parents and his sister Bella. However a cautious Vanessa leaves Nick’s parents worried when she can’t say whether she would be ready to accept a proposal. Nick hopes his final dates with the two women will bring closure to a decision that is splitting his heart in two.”

Out of everyone in Nick Viall’s family, his sister Bella is clearly the biggest rock star. After all remember, for a moment or two here that she is the person who tends to turn up the most for much of these family encounters, and she’s already played a part in this season courtesy of a date back in Wisconsin. Clearly, the advantage here seems to be with Raven, and you don’t have to read the synopsis to know that.

Still, for whatever reason there’s this odd tradition sometimes of the people on the show actually going against what some of the wishes of the family are. You hear them say that they want one thing for their son / daughter, and then the kid does something different. That’s one of the reasons why we’re not ruling Vanessa out, with another one being simply that the two do seem to have the strongest relationship out of everyone we’ve seen on the show. She challenges him more than anyone else does, and while we think there’s serious love there with Raven, we’re not sure they connect on the same level. Raven’s still great, and we’re more than 100% confident that if she wants to do another edition of the franchise, she’ll have that opportunity in the future.
