Big Brother Canada 5: Dillon Carman pre-game interview (exclusive)
Yet, what may surprise you, per our Dillon Carman pre-game interview below, is that he’s actually a big fan of the show with an interest in playing the game. A few more details: He’s 30 years old, and hails from Madoc, Ontario, which is located between Toronto and Ottawa.
CarterMatt – What made you want to try out for Big Brother Canada?
Dillon Carman – I’ve watched the show for years, since I was 19, 20 down in the States. When I moved back to Canada, it was game-time. I needed to be on.
If you could compare yourself to someone from Big Brother Canada or Big Brother US, who would it be?
I’d love to say Big Jon [Pardy].
What’s something about you that would surprise people?
Maybe that I’m an Ontario chess champion, or that I’m the Canadian heavyweight boxing champion?
Do you have a specific strategy entering the house?
No, I really don’t. I’ve thought about it, and I think I’m going to walk into the house with a target on my back just because of my stature. I’m a big guy and I’m very athletic. My only strategy is just to win every competition that I possibly can.
What do you think your biggest weakness could be?
I don’t really have weaknesses, man.
Is there anything that you’re nervous about entering the house?
Whenever I come into situations such as this, I’m going to be nervous. That’s when I work my best — under pressure and overwhelmed. I feel like it’s going to pay off.
Other than winning the money, what’s the one thing you’re hoping to get out of this experience? Are you hoping for fame, romance, or just a good experience?
Being that I’ve made it on the show, I’ve already won. It’s something that I’ve wanted for a rather long time, so being able to walk into the front doors is going to be everything to me.
Our snap judgment
We’d be very annoyed about Dillon having “no weaknesses,” but we suppose that this is in the boxer DNA to put on the impression of not looking like they are afraid of anything. We hate to conjure up bad memories for some, but we actually do think he’s a little like Austin Matelson from Big Brother 17 in that they’re both these big, imposing dudes who secretly love the game. While Dillon will be a target, there are a ton of targets this season. We think he’s got a good shot to make it fairly far if he can implement his strategy and keep other threats around for a while.
