Is Supergirl season 2 introducing Biomax? Meet Lena Luthor’s ‘ex’
Will Supergirl be bringing the villain Biomax to the show before the second season is over? Based on some of the latest casting news, it’s possible. Not only that, it’s possible that the character has a romantic history with one Lena Luthor.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Rahul Kohil of iZombie is going to be appearing on another Vancouver-set CW series, though here he will be taking on the part of Jack Spheer, a tech genius with a wide array of skills who comes to National City with one primary focus in mind — trying to cure the world. During the upcoming 18th episode entitled “Ace Reporter,” and he will speak with both Kara Danvers and Snapper Carr in the process. This episode could focus more on some of Kara’s skills as a journalist just as much as what she’s going through as a superhero; our response to that is “it’s about time,” given that this is a show with a certain responsibility towards making people realize the value of journalism and correcting some of the terrible perceptions that are being put on it right now. It’s something that we’ve even spoken about recently through the lens of the next new episode, where Snapper will interview Supergirl for the first time.
As for Lena Luthor, let’s just say that the two share a romantic history. It’s not clear just how serious said history was, but this appearance could reignite old feelings.
Biomax is the character Spheer eventually becomes in the comics, and he is a powerful character with the ability to control minds. There’s no word on if he will go in this direction on the show, but it feels likely that it’ll be explored given that it seems odd to introduce the character otherwise. If this happens sooner rather than later, it’s another reason to feel for Lena given that save for Kara, pretty much everyone around her turns out to be evil.
